Brickface is a masonry application that creates the look of real brick in a variety of shapes, colors, and designs. The possibilities are endless, since we can create almost any color and even if match your exisitng brick as close as possible, meaning 90% to 95%. Brickface is a three step application process of hand trowelled cement on the surface. Step One: After galvanized metal lath is installed, the first coat is trowelled, allowed to set, then “Scratched”. This is referred to as the scratch coat.
Step Two: On the next working day, the second heavy coat is applied. This is the mortar joint coat and immediately followed by the 3rd color coat.
Step Three: The final application is the finish color coat, is then carefully applied and textured. Once the finish color coat has set in, it is cut deep enough to reveal the mortar coat (joints) to define the different designs and textures of your choice.
Step Four: Any final color/colors that the customer desires can be spotted or rolled on with a brush giving the customer the ideal brick they desire. Colors are mixed with certain pigments, cement, sand, and water. These colors do not rust, fade, or wash off.
